Hacker is a word that has two meanings:
                               **Traditionally, a hacker is someone who likes to tinker with software or electronic systems. Hackers enjoy exploring and learning how computer systems operate. They love discovering new ways to work electronically.
** Recently, hacker has taken on a new meaning — someone who maliciously breaks into systems for personal gain. Technically, these criminals are crackers (criminal hackers). Crackers break into (crack) systems with malicious intent. They are out for personal gain: fame, profit, and even revenge. They modify, delete, and steal critical information, often making other people miserable.

                                               ®    Hacking is the first big problem faced by Governments, companies, and private citizens around the world.
                                               ®    Hacking includes reading others e-mail; steal their credit card number from an on-line shopping site, secretly transmitting secrets to the open Internet.

                                               ®    An Ethical Hacker can help the people who are suffered by this Hackings.
                                              ®    Ethical Hacking can be defined as a legal access of an Internet geek or group in any organization’s online property after their official permission.



HISTORY:

Maybe not the complete history but a valid attempt.A complete hacker history will never be obtainable since so much of the history is fragmented, unfounded and unreported.This will not be a complete list but a work in progress.

1960’s:

    ü  The original meaning of the word "hack" started at MIT; meant  Elegant

1970’s:
    ü  John Draper discovers a toy whistle can access AT&T's long-distance
    ü  Switching system .Steve Wozniak the future founder of Apple Computer, make and sell blue boxes


1983’s:
    ü  Kids' Games Movie "War Games" introduces public to hacking

1989:
    ü  German Hackers arrested for breaking into U.S.Computers; sold information to Soviet.

1999:
    ü  E-commerce Company attacked; blackmail threats followed by 8 million
    ü  Credit card numbers stolen.

2009:
    ü  In ICICI bank hackers done withdrawal of money.
    ü  In London hackers hacked 1 cruor e-accounts of Hotmail
